Roles

Your role controls your access permissions.

Entity roles

Each Select entity can have personnel allocated to entity roles.

These roles apply to the entity itself, and cascade to all the selections of the entity. In other words, if you are an editor of an entity, then you are automatically at least an editor of all the entity's selections.

  • Entity Managers can update records of the entity and can add and remove personnel.

  • Entity Editors can update records of the entity but cannot add or remove personnel.

  • Entity Auditors can read records of the entity but cannot update any.

Selection roles

Each Select selection can have personnel allocated to selection roles.

Anyone with an entity role automatically holds at least the same role in relation to all the entity's selections.

If someone has an entity role and also a specific selection role, then the superior role applies in relation to the selection. For example, someone with an entity auditor (read-only) role and a selection editor role will serve as an editor in relation to that selection.

  • Selection Managers can read, update and delete selection records, and can also add and remove selection personnel.

  • Selection Editors can read and update selection records but cannot add or remove selection personnel.

  • Selection Assigners can allocate assessors to submissions, and remove allocations.

  • Selection Assessors, once assigned to a submission, can evaluate the submission against the criteria.

  • Selection Auditors can read selection records but cannot alter any records.

Submission roles

Submission authors can assign roles to others in relation to each submission.

  • Submission Author can create and edit responses to questions, add and edit collaborators, and lodge submissions. Thie role is designed for co-authors.

  • Submission Readers can read all the information in a submission, but cannot change anything. Thie role is designed for proof-readers.

Changes to roles

Changes to permissions will take effect at the relevant user’s next login (at the latest). Most changes will take effect immediately.
