What are Select's limitations?

Great for structured selection processes

Select has been designed for structured selection processes. See "What does Select do?" for details. It is excellent for situations including:

  • Grants

  • Scholarships

  • Recruitments and hiring

  • Tenders, quotations and expressions of interest.

Not for tests, examinations or quizzes

Select relies on human assessors to judge the overall quality of each submission against the selection criteria. Select does not automate the scoring of each response to each question, as would be required in tests, examinations or quizzes. To Select, there are no right or wrong answers, just submissions that align with the selection criteria well or poorly. There are many other online tools that focus on tests, exams and quizzes.

Not for surveys

The strength of Select is its ability to collect validated answers to questions and co-ordinate a human assessment process to the responses. Select does not analyse the response set, as would be required in a survey. There are many other online tools that focus on surveys.
